ABOUT ME

I love living in Spain, traveling, being spontaneous and enjoying life. I moved to Madrid right after graduating from college - I went on a month long traveling trip with 4 of my best friends from growing up - and it was incredible. I got to see parts of the world in a way that was incredible, staying with friends and being treated like extended family in Istanbul, making spur of the moment decisions, exploring new places, foods, people and experiences. It was really special. Then I moved to work as a nanny and haven't left - though, my job description has changed.

While on a bus riding from Lagos to Lisbon in Portugal, I was talking to a man from Scotland for the entirety and afterwards, he offered me a recommendation to work for his friend, an editor for Variety Magazine here in Spain! Crazy serendipity - a bus ride in Portugal has changed my entire life. I kept nannying but also worked in the Variety office, then switched exclusively to working for the magazine.

I have a passion for film and am so lucky to have a found a job in a country with a terribly tragic economic situation, I am effervescent with gratitude always.

I'm leaving in July - back to America - but moving to NYC to pursue a career in film production. I want to make beautiful, inspiring, moving, amazing things, and movies are my calling.

PHILOSOPHY

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I consider myself an open person. I have a strong personality but also a big heart and an open mind. I love meeting new people. I love being challenged, being intrigued, being confused, being uncomfortable (just for a bit) because these are all things that lead to life lessons and help me grow as a person. I hope to have positive affects on the people I meet. I have definitely grown and can see myself being more centered and comfortable after 2 years abroad, more or less on my own... it's really empowering and exciting and I really appreciate the experience.

I think I can bring an interesting perspective to your couch/home. I love cooking, I love trying new things, I love exploring, I'm open to new adventures and can't wait to mutually enjoy a new (for me, maybe not you) city!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had some trouble surfing the couches... everyone I asked was gone when I went south to Valencia for Las Fallas, which is understandable, since that town gets jammmm packed, and locals sometimes just want to escape the fireworks and madness.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I would have to say my trip to Israel was incredible, the country is beautiful, I was with my amazing sister, and when we were at the Western Wall, that is a moment in my life I will never replicate nor forget. Absolutely incredible.

Visiting Istanbul and taking a water taxi across to touch both Europe and Asia was surreal...the world is just so small! It really put it into perpective.

The first time I came to Europe when I was 14 with my best friend, we ate a crepe under the Eiffel Tower and I knew I would have to travel for the rest of my life, that the world was too magnificent to not explore!

I feel like this is pretty complex... I'm on a constant path of learning and I'm only 23! Got a long way to go!! I just hope that my teachers are compassionate, have wide eyes and wider hearts, a curious mind and a hungry soul.
