As we travel quite a bit, we want to enrich our experiences by meeting local people and understand better people who are from a different place.

ABOUT ME

John is an avid traveler and loves to explore new places and meet new people. My dream is to figure out ways for people from different places to understand each other better, and ultimately to tolerate the differences in people. I call it cultural tolerance through understanding. The world would be a better place if we didn't always believe that "our" way is the best.

Lisa is a freelance writer. Lately she has been getting into travel writing and loves to cover new places and things to do for various magazines, websites, newspapers, etc.

The biggest news we have is that we got married in Switzerland in September 2008 -- an amazing experience!!

PHILOSOPHY

We believe that you can never stop learning, and the more you make the effort to learn about other things, the more enriching life is. It is too easy to stay "comfortable" in your own little world, but the world is a big, fantastic place with so much to offer.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We started couchsurfing in 2008, and have been fortunate to meet some amazing people across the globe on our travels. CSing makes visiting a new place a better experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have had a lifetime of housing people at our place as well as staying with various friends/contacts when we travel. It is always a better experience this way.

Intereses

John is very interested in sport, especially how sport can define people, culture, society, etc.

Lisa loves the "entertainment" industry, including film, television, fashion, celebrities, etc. She worked for an entertainment magazine in New York for 6 years.

Spent 2009-10 on a year-long world tour learning about sport in different cultures.
