ABOUT ME

I'm a journalist and I love to write! I try to write at least 3 news stories per week: 2 for my school paper and 1 for my city paper. I enjoy meeting all kinds of people and learning about new and innovative ideas, processes and initiatives. Music, movies, magazines and books are essential to my life. I have lived in the midwest (U.S.) my entire life and am ready for a change. I love the summer heat and searing beach sand on my feet. Traveling is the best way for me to understand the world in which we live. I will be travelling through Greece this spring/summer on a culinary journalism tour and extending my stay after the course.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snorkeled near a baracuda, sea turtles, sting ray and lots of fish in the Keys and Barbados
Slept on the streets of Amsterdam outside of the train station...yikes!
Got lost in the back streets of rural Salzburg, Austria trying to find a host named Bruner-she was the sweetest old lady :)
Stepped on a stingray in the atlantic ocean without getting stung!
Drank rum with a man just released from prison in Key West, Florida
Stayed up until 5 a.m. in Brussels talking to a man from Afghanistan about the Armageddon
Slept on the beaches of Sardena, Italia
Accidentally lit a bar on fire in Prague after spilling a bit of my Absinthe shot. The bar tender seemed complacent

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope to give and take the knowledge that's been given and gained throughout my life's experiences. I'm a writer, philosopher, musician and ultimately an artist and I hope to learn more skills that access these qualities within and share the one's I have with others that I meet. I'd like to know more about the cultures of the world and other's opinions about what we can do to make the planet, which we live in, a better place for all to coexist.
