About Me

Hi! I’m Juan Martín, 36, from Argentina.

I currently work remotely in sales and I’m transitioning into UX/UI design, so I spend a good part of my days between Figma, coffee and English practice. I’m also a musician – I play the guitar and I love exploring new sounds, jamming with people and discovering local bands and music scenes.

I’m an introvert at first sight, but once I feel comfortable I’m very warm, curious and talkative.

I meditate almost every day and I really value calm, kind environments. I enjoy deep conversations as much as silly jokes, and I love connecting with people who are open-minded, respectful and honest.

I don’t party hard every night – I prefer walks, good coffee, cooking together, hanging out in parks, visiting local spots, going to a gig, or just talking for hours about life, music, travel and future plans. I’m not a heavy drinker and I usually enjoy more relaxed plans, but I’m easy-going and comfortable around different lifestyles as long as there is mutual respect.

I’m clean, organised and very respectful with shared spaces – I know I’m entering someone else’s home, and I really appreciate that trust.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m planning to travel to the UK to:

Improve my English in real-life situations

Experience local life, not just the “tourist version”

Make new friends and connections – people to keep in touch with and hopefully visit again in the future

I love the idea of Couchsurfing because it’s not just about saving money; it’s about sharing time, stories and daily life. I’m open to meeting for a coffee, a walk or a drink even if you can’t host.

I’m also open to see what life brings – sometimes it’s just a nice chat, sometimes a long-term friendship, sometimes a very special connection. I don’t have expectations; I care more about respect, honesty and good energy. 💫

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m very much a music person. I love rock, indie and alternative, but also ambient stuff for late nights or for walking while watching city lights. I play guitar, so I’m always listening to things that inspire me to pick it up and try new sounds.

I really enjoy movies that feel human and slow, the kind that stay in your mind for a while. I like talking about them afterwards more than just “watching and forgetting”. Same with series – I like when they make you think about relationships, choices and time.

With books, I’m into meditation, personal growth and stories about travel or inner change. I like when a book feels like someone is sharing a piece of their life with you.

I’m always open to discovering new music, films and books that are important to other people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I’ve done was travelling all the way from Argentina to Colombia by land – buses, long rides, new cities and a lot of unknown places in between.

On that trip I realised how much I love being on the road, meeting people with completely different stories, accents and dreams, and still feeling connected to them. It woke up a big passion for travel in me and the feeling that the world is much bigger, kinder and more interesting than the routine I was used to.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share:

– Spanish practice
– Guitar jams and playlists
– Stories about travelling through South America
– Help with cleaning, dishes and cooking simple meals
– A calm presence, honest conversation and a lot of gratitude for being hosted

What I Can Share with Hosts

Spanish practice (I’m happy to help you with your Spanish)

Conversation about Argentina, Latin America, culture and everyday life

Basic guitar/bass chords if you’re starting

Feedback or ideas on apps/websites from a UX/UI point of view

Help with cleaning, organising, cooking simple meals, washing dishes, etc.
(I like to contribute – not just “use” the space)

If you host me, I’ll do my best to adapt to your routine and house rules.
