About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Become a science wizard to then become a medical doctor!

ABOUT ME

Not very good at describing myself by textbox or questions such as "Tell me about yourself." For someone to know me I'd rather tell stories and answer questions about me so the other person can put the pieces together.

For now I guess the most relevant thing to divulge is that my interests range from the active [bungee jumping, rock climbing, dancing, surfing] to the passive [enjoying the scenery, just sitting and talking, watching movies all day.]

In short, I don't get bored.

ALSO I am collecting a little trinket from every country I visit. When my collection is big enough, I want to have a wall dedicated to my travels, so any help with finding one would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

PHILOSOPHY

Big supporter of the "Treat others as you'd like yourself to be treated" idea.

Learn to laugh at yourself, and the world becomes a funnier, more enjoyable place.

I'm always trying to become better as a person physically, mentally, and spiritually. (Without taking myself too seriously of course).

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately I can't host at the moment.

I will be traveling to the UK and Norway Summer '14 [June-August]. I plan to surf, but also just meet with local surfers as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met my first surfer, showed her around a bit, then lost my car and wandered around a bit (and got to know each other a tad in the process.)

A good year later I met 3 CS'ers in my city and had Mexican food, halloween ideas, and a fun time. I've been busy but hopefully I can find time to join them for movies/karaoke like we planned!

In between, I've talked to CS'ers from China, Vietnam, Russia, Japan, Canada, and Poland online. Some I've forged a friendship and hope to meet one day when I inevitably make my way to their fantastic countries.

In summary, CS does not disappoint; however, I cannot wait for my first visit in another country with a CS host!

Interests

Life, nature, science technology, movies, dancing (especially swing!) literature, puzzles, music, animals, surfing, psychology, sailing, art, rock climbing, cultures, languages, martial arts, philosophy, roller-coasters, food (cooking it as well as eating it), building, trying new things, and (as you could probably guess) traveling.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I've held a ball python, scorpion, tarantula, and a baby alligator throughout my childhood.

I've jumped over an endless river of ants 1/2 a meter wide, trekked through semi-ancient stone steps through the Amazon all to discover paradise in the form of Tayrona, Colombia. (Must find pictures!!!)

I've stood at the southernmost end of the United States.

I've seen meteors through a telescope and protozoa through a microscope.

I've touched a giant manta ray in the wild.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: If anyone wants to learn English/Spanish, Swing Dancing, Kung-fu, boxing, and/or Guitar.

Learn: I'm glad to learn just about anything my host/surfer wants to teach, but I'd be especially thrilled if you could teach me to surf, and or your native language.

Share: I want to exchange philosophies, foods, stories, and music.
