About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Pass the state exam for Official Language Schools in Andalusia, become a state teacher of English, and get some money to keep travelling :D

[Updated]: I passed the exam, I'm now a teacher, getting money and ready for new adventures :D

ABOUT ME

In the last few years, due to studies and (un)employment, I've become a nomad. This changes one person for good, as obliges him or her to acquire social competences in order to survive.

Throughout my life I have lived in 3 different countries: Spain, Poland and Slovakia and in 6 different places: Mogón (Spain), Úbeda (Spain), Opole (Poland), Jaén (Spain), Granada and Bratislava. When at highschool, I decided to study English Philology, I could not imagine this desition would be so important as to take me to places I didn't know about and to change my way of looking at the World.

I spent two great years in Bratislava, city that I became to love and where I met great people, most of them from the Couchsurfing comunity in the city. During my first year, I did an EVS helping with languages at the Language Department of the Natural Sciences Faculty of Comenius University, and when my EVS was over I stayed at the Uni as a teacher of Spanish and English.

After these two years I decided that the time for me to move back to my town and start preparing for that exam had come. Currently, I am English teacher.

PHILOSOPHY

The World is like a book. If you don't travel, you only read the first page.

This is in a great deal my philosophy, and I interpret "not to travel" as to get stuck in one place, not just not to move, but also not to be willing and open to meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I lived in Bratislava for two years, there I used to attend regularly to the weekly meetings and joined some trips organised by them as well as other activities, like the flagship event, the Winesurfing. Currently I'm in my hometown, where there is no CS activity.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Apart from the above mentioned activity, I've had three experiences as a guest, two in Budapest, and one in Gijón (north of Spain) with requests that were sent by other friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Mainly progressive rock (Pink Floyd, Yes, King Crimson, Triana...) but I also enjoy listening to jazz, blues, metal, reggae, classical music, celtic music and folk.

Movies: Any good movie; the first that comes to my mind is "Monty Python's Life of Brian".

Books: Any good book; the first that comes to my mind is "El Jinete Polaco" by Antonio Muñoz Molina.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in the Champions League Final 2011, F.C.Barcelona versus Mancester Uniter, 3-1 for Barça. Even more, it was in Wembley, which is one of the football temples, the experience was great.

In 1999 I went to a concert by Mike Oldfield, who surprisingly performed in my hometown... At that moment I didn't know him, but I liked it so much that for a long time it was the only music I would listen to. Currently, a great deal of the music taste I have, I owe it to that concert.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a teacher of English and I can also teach Spanish.

I'm interested in learning languages, any of them.

I can share great experiences from the places I've lived in.
