Overview
About Me
Born and raised in Great Britain, 30 years as a California resident, now tend to roam
My preference is to experience events of life rather than to collect things, and since 2006, Cambodia has been an annual destination as a healthcare volunteer. A time for adventure with a touch of altruism.
I'm a sometimes dancer, SCUBA diver, recently tried skydiving, but mostly love to travel with some humanitarian purpose if possible. I spend time learning and forget languages with great skill, collect empty books waiting to be written in, and yes, I've journeyed through many lands, hiked the Himalayas, and found myself up many a creek without a paddle. I'm slowing down, but no thoughts of stopping anytime soon!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
An affordable way to find a place to stay while meeting people unafraid to open their homes to strangers. The rewards outweigh the risks one takes in living life without fear.

Music, Movies, and Books
Eclectic. Prefer independent films to the Hollywood genre. Music from classical, world music, and many pieces introduced to me by my 25yr old son or by interested others.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Gave birth to my son, Sebastien, initially with a little help from my former husband. Since the age of four weeks old he's accompanied us/me on backpacking trips to many countries, and has helped out in medical clinics in Cambodia. It's taken a worldwide network of people met on this road through life to raise him. It truly does take a global village to guide a sensitive, socially aware and loving human being into adulthood.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach by example, learn with an open mind, and share generously.
At my age, my CV is a long read ..great for insomniacs.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Tears of laughter, a lively exchange of ideas, travel wisdom, advice or assistance when asked, companionship, education in the English language (CELTA)...
