Hi there!

My name is Judy and I'm currently a third year university student from California and I'm studying abroad in Madrid for Spring semester. I am studying communications with a minor in Spanish. I was born and raised in San Diego, California and am of Vietnamese descent :) I love the eating, the beach and my dog! I've also discovered my love for traveling and basking in the natural wonders of the world.

I would say I'm a pretty outgoing gal with a more sarcastic humor. I try to be as easy going as possible and am always up for anything! I enjoy watching TV shows (and probably watch too many haha) with my favorite being How I Met Your Mother or Game of Thrones (I named my dog Khaleesi if you get the reference). Speaking of which I love dogs (cats are pretty cool too). I'm also pretty open-minded when it comes to food, music, cultures, shows etc. and always down to try new things.

I found out about this website from my friend, Naomi, and thought that it was such an easy and amazing way to travel and meet new people of different cultures. While traveling and doing touristy things is fun, I figured through couchsurfing I could get a more local and personalized view of the cities and countries that I visit. Also I noticed a lot of people on here are way cooler than me and I want to get to know y'all! There's nothing wrong with having more friends and I hope to keep in touch with everyone I meet through here in the future :) Having experienced a more local travel experience while in Vietnam and comparing it to my more touristy visits in Europe, I definitely prefer the local vibe! It's much more relaxed and I get to experience hidden treasures that you can't get from following all the touristy routes.

I enjoy all types of music but my absolute favorite genre has to be RnB. I'm more of a TV show kind of gal and probably watch too many. My top two favorite are Game of Thrones and How I Met Your Mother.

I can share my culture, being Vietnamese-American I was raised with two different cultures. I can share foods from my Vietnamese roots as well! I can also share my travel experiences and tips for places that they may not have visited yet. I would also say I have a pretty open mind so I'm always up for any sort of conversation, whether it be about life or politics. I enjoy deep conversations and getting to know people and how they ended up the person they are today!
