About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To think up a current mission.

ABOUT ME

I love to eat and cook (like most other people on couchsurfing). I'm vegetarian for every reason except because I don't like the taste of meat. I think the taste of meat is just fine (mmm bacon!) but choose to abstain. However, I'm not here to judge you, I'm here to sleep in your house and/or learn about your world :)

I enjoy swing, tango, and blues dancing. I would like to learn how to belly dance and judo.

Books are fantastic. I enjoyed Outliers (by Malcolm Gladwell) and named my daughter after a character from Dune (by Frank Herbert).

I've embraced that I'm a dork. Fan of Star Trek, Firefly, Doctor Who, and similar.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I spread the word about couchsurfing and inspire others to join. I occasionally use it. Feel free to contact me to learn about Chicago.

I've been a member since 2008 but hadn't had the financial means to travel. My home is occasionally available but unfortunately people don't want to travel to the far suburbs of Chicago.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Good times:
~Suzanne from Kansas was a wonderful hostess. She took me to a lovely restaurant.
~Have been camping and a potluck with other surfers, one from France.
~Enjoyed Jeff and Angel from Seattle. Thought they were one of the coolest couples I've met in my life. My friend and I hitchhiked there and he loved it enough that he may move there.

I like a variety of things from reading on the beach to playing video games to watching movies and rock climbing.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Office, The Guild, V (old and new), X files, Veronica Mars, and Firefly are addictions. The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones are fun/painful to watch. Love Sherlock. Feel free to suggest more!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked Mt. St. Helens in Washington and Mt. Bierstadt in Colorado, helped run a volunteer camp in St. Bernard Parish Louisiana after Katrina and Rita, hitchhiked with Steve to Seattle, and interned with FEMA Region V.

I've had one of the priciest coffees: Kopi Luwak in Indonesia. My daughter has had BBQ dried mealworms.
