ABOUT ME

We are a young couple from Germany which loves traveling. I (Julia) have worked in the media industry for several years and have spent the last year in lovely London completing my masters in International Business Economics. My boyfriend Marc was working in IT and is passionate about everything that deals with this topic.

However, we had a dream we made true and currently, we are traveling the world for one year (we have started our trip in January 2013). We have been to many amazing destinations already: snowy Helsinki and Tallinn, multi-cultural Hong Kong, diverse Vietnam, relaxed Laos, historical Cambodia, beachy Thailand, delicious Pakistan and crazy India.

There is so much more we want to see, including Australia, Hawaii and South America! We have met many amazing people already and are looking forward to meeting many more interesting people and places with interesting stories.

PHILOSOPHY

To be happy when it rains, because it will rain anyway, even when I am not happy about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment, we are traveling the world. We like to meet local people or to stay some nights at somebody's place as this a great way to get to know new places and cultures. When we are back in Germany, we would also love to host couchsurfers from all over the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Until now, we had 2 wonderful couchsurfing experiences in Helsinki and 2 in Mumbai and we are overwhelmed by the hospitality of our hosts. We are looking forward to meeting more nice people all over the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking all the way up to Machu Picchu, Peru about 4am in the morning was one of the best things that I have done. We have been one of the first people who arrived, the sun was rising and the view was stunning. I have never felt better in my life before.

I was also totally impressed by the stunning beauty of the partly frozen waterfall Gulfoss in Iceland which made me have goosebumps (I have not had the same feelings when I have visited the Niagara Falls in Canada). It was also the first and only time I have travelled without company which was a very great experience as well.
