Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided to join Couchsurfing to be able to travel and meet locals. I prefer to get to know a new place from the perspective of locals instead of the classic tourist experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like any type of music you can dance to, the funkier and the more instruments the better. I do not watch many movies or TV because I get bored. I love books that make me think and are engaging and flow smoothly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I have done is backpack in the high elevation "cordillera de los Andes" (the Andean mountain range) for 12 days, sleeping below glacial topped peaks each night and crossing 5000 meter passes each day while carrying all our gear and food. I love the feeling of awe I experience when backpacking and in the mountains.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning about cultures and the people who live in each place I visit. I have gardened my whole life and love learning more about how to grow our own food and the wild flowers native to different places. I am happy to share my knowledge of the outdoors (camping/backpacking) and my own cultural perspective with others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will happily cook dinner and share good conversation during mealtime. I am a very conscientious guest and respectful of people's homes and their personal lives.
