About Me
Hi there! :)
I'm Julia and this December I want to try out if living abroad and working remotely is something for me. I had paused my studies for a couple of years prior: the reason why I only just graduated. Now I'm trying out lots of things to be able to make a decision of what I would like my life to look like the coming years.
My dream eventually is to start a social study café, much in the spirit of couch surfing <3 Right now I'm busy learning about web development, graphic design, business economics, and anything else that sparks my interest. I would like to get some experience working in a café or restaurant.
I'm also an active member in the Dutch Yes Fam community. It's an international following of the YouTube channel "Yes Theory", which revolves around the philosophies of "Strangers are friends you haven't met yet", "Love over Fear" and "Seek Discomfort". I've been to many meetups and helped to organize them as well :)
You can look me up on Instagram! @julia.madika
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Primarily I'm looking for a place to stay around Brisbane this month :) Preferably from this Saturday on, December 9th, for a couple of days, or longer if possible.
I've also been looking to stay around one of the islands around here for a week or so.
In the weekends and/or evenings I'd like to meet up with locals to have long discussions in bars and/or go out dancing :)

Teach, Learn, Share
Things I can teach are: Dutch/English both grammar and writing skills, playing ukulele, html/css and Figma (graphic design software).
I'm pretty handy as well, so I could help fix some stuff in your house if you like :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can play you some songs on the ukulele! I'm not great at it, but not bad either.
I could make you a website :)
I can also cook! Risotto's my favorite dish to show off :P
