About Me

Hello everybody:)

I am Julia, 25 years old, currently living in Leipzig, Germany. I love to spend my time with learning about stuff, e.g. through reading books or articles, listening to podcasts or people or watching movies, documentaries and plays. The newest book on my agenda is the science fiction novel 'The Dispossessed' by Ursula Le Guin and recenty I have been diving more into learning about ADHD. Because I just finished my thesis and the summer time I am also spending more time outdoors, like by the lakes or going on hikes.

When it comes to my social life, I really like to be around people, drinking a lemonade/coffee/beer or going dancing together. So my friends would describe me as an outgoing, very curious person with a head oftentimes in the clouds (sort of considerate and attentive while being inattentive if that makes sense). :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because of submitting my thesis, I have some free time at hands at the moment before thinking about the next important step so I wanna fulfill my small dream of discovering more of Eastern Europe and the Balcans. Though I will spent some time in Hostels, I also wanna try out Couchsurfing as my flatmate recommended it to me and had some cool experiences. So I think it is the best way to get to know a place better, through the people right?🌻 I am definitely looking for a safe and queer friendly space. When I am getting back I am also thinking about being a host myself!

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently really into Pheobe Bridgers, Big Thief, Haim and La Femme. Film-wise big love for Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Orlando and Chicago. Books would be The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov and Herkunft by Saša Stanišić. Recommendations are always welcome☀️

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few years ago I got to live in Budapest for two Erasmus Semesters. Met some of my best friends there and since then I have started travelling, trying to meet people and places from all over the world🤸‍♀️

What I Can Share with Hosts

I could teach a bit of German of course haha. Also maybe analog photography or some cooking skills. I could make Chilaquiles or scrambled tofu sandwiches for us:)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Egypt, England, Hungary, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland
