Overview
About Me
I'm on a 12 month (minimum) shoe-string backpacking adventure with my Australian partner Mark! We're tackling Central America down to Patagonia in 2017, New Zealand over next summer (or winter depending on your location:)) and Nepal and South East Asia in 2018 (that's the plan).
I'm a bit of a jack of all trades. I worked as a TV production manager, made my way in front of the camera as an actress and sometimes as a model for my photographer friends; sometimes you can still find me back behind the camera to take pictures myself. I ended up working in hospitality after living & working in a hostel in L.A. for nearly half a year during my acting studies at the great Lee Strasberg Institute and finding it way to intriguing to interact with all sorts of amazing people travelling this world.
Which brings me to my other big passion in life: travel. I always had big aspirations for travels but financials and the one or other twist in life held me back. That's why I'm super excited that we're about to set out on this big adventure!
There are so many more things I'm passionate about and keen to learn about but it's way too much to write down here - besides what are we going to talk about when we finally meet? ;)
We're on an eye-opening mission, looking for diversity, adventure, genuine connections with awesome & interesting people, sustainability, happiness, fun, and at the very end of it a place to call home.
We are also looking for different lifestyles to help us shape our own and want to give back where we can with some volunteering (real work not "volunteer tourism") planned for Central America and Nepal or wherever there is an exciting opportunity!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This year and our travels are all about new experiences, growth, meeting friends we haven't met yet, learning and finding answers to some bigger questions in life. I believe in sharing knowledge, I believe in the importance of community, I believe in relationships and connections, I believe in spirituality and some sort of destiny. No better way to experience all of the above than couchsurfing. Besides this & the obvious reason of restricted finances, it's also about expanding personal boundaries and restrictions, personal growth and amazing human beings!
I'm super excited to see who we're going to meet along this way and what amazing experiences we'll create!
Interests
I've always been an animal lover but when I moved to Australia in 2014, I immediately fell in love with the Australian wild life. There has been more than one time that Mark had to stop the car on busy roads to pick up a turtle or shoo a wombat away and it's still a running gag between us that I once tried to convince an echidna without much success to move away from the road.
Another passion is our environment and sustainability in general and I'm constantly learning and always interested in how to minimise our footprint on this planet. I'm super keen to learn more about this and would love to find a way to be professionally engaged in this field.
Give me wild, impressive landscapes, hardly travelled hiking paths, stormy seas and empty beaches and I'm a happy girl:)

Music, Movies, and Books
Give me books and I'm happily disappearing into far away worlds!
And movies for obvious reasons. But make it a good one. One that's actually telling a story. One that takes me on an emotional ride, that makes me laugh or think, or just silent. That leaves me with something.
And music. Always depending on my mood. Never hardcore heavy metal. Hate it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Amazing can mean so many different things to different people. Some of the experiences I'm very fond of and that were amazing for me are: Working on a sheep farm in Scotland, planting trees in Australia & studying acting in L.A.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well, my partner Mark is the one to whip up a storm in the kitchen but when it comes to baked sweets and bread, I'm the one to ask! What can I say, it must be my German heritage:)
Also more than happy to share the little knowledge I have around home made remedies.
And of course, stories, laughter, my personality, adventure, but never ever ask for a piece of my chocolate. Seriously. But if I offer that means you must be a very special person:)
