About Me
Hello you! My name is Julia and I am from Poland. I finished high school last year and decided to go on an adventure 😁
I am 19 and I took a gap year to think what I really want to do, reflect on a past and earn money for my travels!
I am currently in Thailand.
I was born and raised in Poland but my heart and soul belongs to the world entirely. In 2024 I went on a cultural exchange in Japan and lived there for over a month.
I finished high school with major subjects like maths, geography and English. From time to time I tutor children in science related subjects. Thanks to travel and getting to know myself better I know now that I want to become an engineer.
Back home I was mainly working in retail but after coming back to the country I will focus on tutoring.
In my free time I enjoy various type of art
My dream now is to see Carmen in theater. I also do perform as a belly dancer, as a side quest :P. Dancing made me regain my confidence and lowers my cortisol when needed!
Thanks to my boyfriend I regained my love for chess so we can play it together! Cant promise that it will be a great match though haha!
If I feel comfortable I like to read to gain new knowledge on various topics (politics, science, sociology, silly fun-facts)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My friend Liang who I met during my volunteering stay in the monastery showed me the app (Thank you man). Since I travel low budget and only splurge on experiences or good food it would be great to know local culture by staying with people who know the place very well already.
I am also instruiged by others people life stories. Why are you here? Whats your dream? Who would you like to become? Do you find your inner peace?
I cant get enough of people’s stories, I get so much inspiration from them! I would love to hear your story as well :>

Music, Movies, and Books
I do not lie when I tell you that I listen to everything haha
Varies by different activities I am doing while listening to music! However I nonetheless I always come back to jazz~
My favorite artist is Mac Demarco, I will be attending his concert in Poland this year!
My comfort movies are definitely from Studio Ghibli. I don’t mind classics as well as new movies. My top changes rapidly so for now I will go with: Train Dreams and Cold War
I stopped reading as much when I enter the stressful zone of exams in high school haha Now, I am slowly back and currently I am focusing on reading about Buddhism and “comfort books” like Before the Coffee Gets Cold
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going abroad solo without a plan (hehe)
Stayed a one month in a Buddhist monastery
Learning Physics in Japanese language (actually quite possible!)
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to teach you thing or two about Poland. I am always ready to share some knowledge about history, food and people! If circumstances allow I would love to show you how to make pierogi from scratch! 🥟
Learning local cuisine as well as what local people like to do would be much appriecated! I know that as a tourist is easy to find cities highlights… however I would love to make my journey focused on people, culture and doing it all in ethical and traveler way.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories from my life - sometimes I feel that I carry stories from an old lady haha I can tell you about my trips so far. I have learned a lot about Han Buddhism, about Japanese culture. I can also teach you how to make pierogi (best polish dish ever!!!) if we could find the ingredients!
