Hellooooo. I'm a student from Harvard studying ornithology (birds!) and entomology (bugs!) and I like to draw pictures of animals, plants, and people. I'm on a fellowship year abroad in Japan and I'll be doing my best to hike the Tōkai Nature Trail (東海自然歩道). So far I have hiked about 400 km (eating dry ramen every day) and met a ton of amazing people! I'm very new to the country (日本語が少し話せます... ) but I'm looking forward to seeing & learning & doing.

In general I'm pretty chill and interested in anything that's cool and new. I like animals and food and museums. Ask me about keeping bees or my pet python (not a euphemism). I'm pretty new to couchsurfing but I have been traveling for a long time!

I'm in Japan for a year, which is a long time!! Running around solo is cool and all but it can get boring & lonely. It's tough to make friends when everyone you meet is flying home (or to Cambodia, or Laos, or Thailand) in a couple days. :(

I drank a bottle of unfiltered water in Siem Reap ... and lived to tell the tale.

Once, I camped under a live nest of suzumebachi (Asian giant hornet). The hive was bigger than a basketball. :(

I caught a robin with my bare hands once!! (I'll put a picture of it in my photos)

I can draw! I do a lot of drawing. In fact, I'm on a fellowship to draw pictures of temples and wildlife in Japan. If you have a pet, I'll draw it for you. Or I can just draw a picture of a street cat and we can pretend it's yours. :)
