About Me
CURRENT MISSION
contributing to a friendly, sustainable, open and just world community
ABOUT ME
I see myself as a global citizent as I have lived in many countries and embraced many cultures in my short life-span. I love to meet new people, especially open-minded people, experiencing new things, obtaining new lessons about life and to give back to the community around me.
I am very passionate and enthusiastic about exploring my various interests and hobbies and I love to share this with the people I have around me and that I meet.
PHILOSOPHY
"be the change you want to see in the world" - Ghandi
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hope to participate in many ways! Firstly by visiting people on my boyfriend and my coming trip to Brooklyn, New York (July 2013) and in the future we would like to host people as well - on our coach and/or just to meet up and hang out in Malmö - a city I love living in!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I joined the community quite a few years ago and had some sporadical contact with surfers then. Although since I was away during the summers, I didn't get the chance to host anyone even though we had some nice correspondence.
After that, I have been away from the community for a few years (for no apparent reason) and now I am very happy to be back!
Interests
My interest include hanging out with friends and meeting new people from other cultures, traveling, gardening, music (singing in a gospel choir, playing guitar & seeing live shows), the arts in general, street photography, local community engagement, dancing, cooking, surfing, hiking, reading, etc.
I am passionate about empowering local communities/grass-root movements, environmental and social issues, sustainability and psychology.

Music, Movies, and Books
these types of questions make my mind go nuts :) I hope to talk about this in person when I meet you fellow surfers.
But just to give a little insight - music wise, I often feel much more connected to 60's-70's type music (rock n' roll, folk, soul, jazz, etc.) than contemporary music.
Movies - the latest movie I saw that I absolutely adored was The Beast of the Southern Wild. Also saw a very moving French movie - Rust and Bone - with stunning Marion Cotillard. Otherwise, I highly enjoy music documentaries such as No Direction Home (Bob Dylan) and Imagine (John Lennon) as well as documentaries at large, preferably about some sort of environmental and/or social cause. Otherwise, classics like Forrest Gump, Fried Green Tomatoes, the old Woody Allen New York-based movies, The Breakfast Club, Blues Brothers, Amelie, etc. is my cup of tea on any given rainy day :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing I have done is to go to South Africa during 2009 and participate in self-development courses at Insight Training Center outside Johannesburg. It was one of the most challenging things I have embarked upon, yet so rewarding and, yes, developing :) Also had the privilege to stay with and meet many beautiful, generous and kind people while staying there.
