About Me

I've just joined CS, so I will write more things about myself soon! I've been a member of hospitalityclub since more than 3 years, so you can check my profile there, too. I have the same username there, juliadevi!

Live and let live!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been an active member of the hospitalityclub community now since almost 4 years and I just love the whole idea!
I enjoy hosting and letting the world come to my home as well as I love to get hosted and learn a lot about new places.

I'm interested in quite a lot of things like different cultures, ways of living and thinking, history, politics (although this is often quite depressing to talk about),...sometimes I love to be quiet and sometimes I'm just the opposite...I also like talking, meeting friends, laughing, reading, music, volleyball, diving, snorkeling, dancing, cinema, sitting in the sun and being lazy,... and I love travelling-of course!:-) When I'm traveling I like to see the famous sights from a country but even more I like to see and learn about the "little things" that make people and countries so special and beautiful.
Another interest: I will start my MA thesis now and I will write about intersexual people. So if you know somebody who is born intersexual pls let me know, I'd really appreciate that!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Shantaram, Alexis Sorbas, books of Heinrich Böll, Hermann Hesse, anthropological books, biographies,...
Music: I'm interested in all kinds of music from every part in this world. These days I often listen to Portishead, Wyclef Jean, House Music, Massive Attack, Ali Akbar Khan, Nim Sofyan, Ali Farka Touré, Tracy Chapman, Coldplay,...
Movies: Life is beautiful, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Being John Malkovich, Herbstzeitlose, Persepolis,...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think one of the biggest challenges in life is to overcome one's own fears. I try to do that as often as possible.
