About Me
Hello! I'm a student currently living in Alaska and taking a gap year before going to university to study sustainable environmental design. I'm also a serial exclamation point user because I'm just so darn excited about everything!
In my free time, I'm usually walking my dogs, tending to my houseplants, taking photos, rock climbing, or socializing with my friends outside. I love taking the time to admire my surroundings and savor the moment whenever I can afford to. Luckily, traveling grants me many opportunities to do that, and so I welcome all adventures with open arms! :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm all about broadening my horizons and meeting new people. I'm a big believer in the spirit of community and think that the best way to appreciate and acquaint myself to new situations is to connect with the people around me. The relationship between people and their home is very sacred to me, so I am always excited when someone is open to sharing that with me!
I love traveling but hate being a tourist. Couchsurfing is the best way to immerse myself and learn more about the places I visit. My favorite travel experiences have been when I'm able to find a home away from home!

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC
some new artists i'm listening to: The Marías, Israel Nash, DRAM
aaand my all time favorites: hippo campus, Ella Fitzgerald, Lorde, Matt Corby, Maggie Rogers, Solange, Amy Winehouse, The 1975, Chance the Rapper
My music library covers a bunch of different genres, but I tend to mostly listen to indie/bedroom pop, psychedelic funk, jazz, and soul. I definitely don't have too much pride to admit that I love my cheesy pop classics too though :-)
MOVIES/TV SHOWS
If you don't know what to talk to me about, asking me about my favorite things to watch is the best way to get me to start talking! I keep up with a lot of TV shows and enjoy movies from pretty much every genre, but my favorites include Jurassic Park (only the original, obviously), Ratatouille, Hector and the Search for Happiness, and Inglourious Basterds.
BOOKS
I've just finished reading Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, and now I'm in the middle of reading Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf and Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald! Kind of hopping back and forth and also asking for recommendations because I have a short attention span.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my favorite and most treasured travel memories was backpacking and canoeing in the Yukon backcountry when I was 16! It was a month-long excursion deep in the Canadian wilderness with a group of 17 strangers from all over the world and taught me how to be independent and unafraid of new experiences. The trip gave me a chance to form meaningful, lasting friendships with those people, and learn how to truly appreciate and love nature.
Teach, Learn, Share
Although I'm fairly young and still have a lot of life left to live, I have plenty of stories to share and all the time in the world to hear some more. Exchanging music recommendations, biking, and bonding over a good meal is always a good time for me!
I also loooooove my franchises (e.g. Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Marvel) and enjoy having enlightening discussions about all sorts of topics to explore other perspectives!
Cooking with/for other people is one of my greatest joys, and I'd be more than happy to teach you a couple of my own recipes and learn some from you too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good food, good company, and a new friend!
I can impress you with my perfect memorization of the entire High School Musical soundtrack or whip up one of my special double-sided grilled cheese sandwiches. And if you take me somewhere pretty, I'll take new profile photos of you for free :-)
