About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Fortune cookie: Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter.
ABOUT ME
I like to have jobs that are better than most people's vacations. Life is better when lived out of a backpack or car.
There's something about mountains and the desert that capture my imagination more than anything else. So now I know where I need to go.
PHILOSOPHY
"There's only one rule I know, babies, god damn it, you've got to be kind." -Kurt Vonnegut
"The only thing to fear is fear itself." -FDR

Music, Movies, and Books
I love movies and I'll watch almost anything. My favorite bands are Muse and The Killers, although I listen to mostly American rock, pop and the random Paraguayan reggaeton that I hear whether I want to or not. I love reading and my current favorites include Harry Potter, His Dark Materials and Bill Bryson's A Walk In The Woods.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Reaching the summit of a 14,000 foot mountain feels like you're on top of the world!
Teach, Learn, Share
I make awesome homemade peanut butter. Take some peanuts (however many you want) out of their shells and roast them for a while (I only have a gas stove, so time and temperature is completely arbitrary). When they're slightly browned, take them out and remove the thin papery shell. Throw them in a blender and blend until you reach your preferred crunch level. Add a tiny bit of corn syrup or oil (I use less than a 1/2 tablespoon for 500g) so it sticks together better and blend for a little bit longer. All told, you probably don't need to blend for more than 3-5 minutes. Add salt, sugar, honey, etc to your taste, but it's a lot healthier and still delicious without extras!
