About Me

Hi, I'm Julian and I live with my girlfriend near to Cologne (Germany). I recently finished my study of mechanical engineering and have now the time to fulfil my dream to visit the USA for a road trip and see the Grand canyon, the giant trees of Kings Canyon and San Francisco.

I love the nature so I often go for a hike and ride my bike as well. From my point of view I am open minded and always enjoy a good conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In 2016 I met the Croatian world traveller Tomislav Perko, who inspired me with his question: "What would you do if you knew you could not fail?" Since this time I started thinking about traveling and meeting people from other countries with other traditions and learn from them. This is, why I want to try Couchsurfing and and I hope to gather experience in meeting nice people and learn about other cultures and ways of travelling. Hope to see you soon.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music. There is no special genre which I prefer. I played in a metal band for over 8 years but I also appreciate good produced electrical music, Rock, Pop and Classic.

One of my favourite is "The name of the wind". In the past I haven't read that much but I try to make up on the books I missed so far.

It seems to be that I lose interest in movies more and more. There are still some classics I like: Cast away, Groundhog day,...
And fantasy: Harry Potter 5-8, Lord of the rings (not the Hobbit), and science fiction

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I could say, I'm currently on a road trip in a country I always wanted to be, but I think there should be named the story of how I invited my favourite travel author to a beer by pointing him on a part of his first book, where he told a friend to never reject an invitation when he becomes a famous author. I planned it for month and result was a fabulous evening with him and some couch surfing friends of him.

After renewing our apartment, I'd like to share a private room. Since then I can share my time and thoughts to people who are interested in it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I offer you good conversations. The exchange of cultures and thoughts. I never did couch surfing before and had just two Airbnb with amazing hosts, but it seems that I'm a good guest. I'm good in making friends and my hosts we're very unhappy that my girlfriend and I had to leave after some days to go on with our road trip.
