About Me

Hello!
My name is Juliana Reinisch. I am from Austria where I have just finished High School. At the moment I am a volunteer in Semarang, Indonesia - I am teaching English in an islamic elementary school - and I really enjoy my time in this beautiful country. Everything is very different and interesting. When I go back to Austria in July I would like to study in Graz to become a teacher for German language and history. But before that I have decided, that I would like to see some places in the World...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I am already in Asia I would like to see some more countries apart from Indonesia, namely Malaysia and Thailand. While being a volunteer I have found out, that traveling is much more interesting when you can meet with the inhabitants of a country and share their daily live. That is why I would like to use couchsurfing through my traveling time on the Asian continent.
Back in Austria, it would also be nice to show travelers my own country, but I am still not sure where I will live while studying (at home, together with other students...) so I don't know If there will be a possibility for me to be a host.

Interests

I love traveling - of course that is why I am here in Asia. I am very interested in different cultures and also in the history of the countries that I visit.
Abart from that I like reading very much. I read novels but also reference books about histroy and sometimes poems. At the moment I try to write a story on my own because I have the dream of becoming a novelist.
Other hobbies of mine are drawing and horse riding. I really like animals in general and most of the time they also like me.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are many books I like, for example "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George R. R. Martin or "The pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. Sometimes I like to read classical literature, likte the plays of Shakespear and Goethe.
My favourite movie is "Les Miserables". Other movies I like are "Warhorse", "Avatar" and many more.
When it comes to music I generally like to songs they play in the charts. On of my favourite Band ist "Sunrise Avenue".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most amazing thing I have done so far, was coming to Indonesia. It is the first time I am traveling on my own, and the first time I am outside of Europe. And I love it. I've already learned so many things here and met a lot of kind and open-hearted people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to teach and learn languages. My own mother language is German, and my English is also quite good. Italian and Indonesian I am still learning and I am always open to learn some new languages (even if it's just a few words)
I also like cooking, and would offer to make some Austrian dishes if someone is interested in our cuisine (it's delicious, I promise ;) )

What I Can Share with Hosts

Like I said, I can share my languages and my cooking ^^
Apart from that maybe some experiences, stories....
