About Me

Hello, I'm Juliana and I am new to couch surfing.
I am originally form Brazil, lived in a bunch of different cities in the USA, I am living in Poland currently. I decided to come here to try and break into the gaming industry (No, I do nt work at Red and I don't even work in games atm.. but I'm still hopeful).
I studied Marketing, Architecture and Film, I am planning to go back to school this year for Illustration and digital arts. I am an artist being better in traditional media than digital, trying to even those out as we speak.
I love to travel, unfortunately only now I have been having a chance to do that often and I plan to continue as long as I can.

Since I am new here please feel free to ask anything you'd like, we can share fb, I can ask my friend (whos here and has nice reviews) to get in touch with you. Anything to put your mind at ease.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was very skeptical and afraid of it at first, until a good friend told me about her experience and how not only can provide you with a bed but, more important, can give you real life experiences, meet new people and have a much better experience overall. Which is what I hope to achieve with this. Not only to stay with people but to host as well. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a bit of everything, I know, everyone says that, but I really do. As far as favorites goes I'd have to say Sci fi (my favorite sub genre being easily Cyberunk) and horror perhaps. But overall a good book is a good book, no matter what style.
Favorite authors range from Alexandre Dumas, Jane Austen, Lovecraft, Stephen King, Jim Knipfel, Phillip K Dick, William Gibson and so on.
As far as movies goes I really appreciate movies that makes you think and analyze yourself, society etc etc, BUT I can also just lay back, relax and watch something just for fun. Not everything has to be so serious all the time. I almost detest romantic comedies, but I love the Korean ones, hence the "almost" there. Other genres I like just fine.
Music is all over the place. Can't really say what's my favorite. I like synth pop, 80s, Gothic, Metal, Industrial, Southern (Swamp) Rock, R&B, Blues, Jazz, Classical.... yeah, I can keep going. Ironically not a huge fan of Brazilian music, really dislike country and tolerate some house (I love electronic but I think I had an overall bad experience with house. It's just.. boring :P )

What I Can Share with Hosts

Definitely cooking is the to of this list. I love to cook. My mom is a chef, my family is Italian (you know, the ones that make their own pasta and all) and my best friend is from LA with a Louisiana family so my Cajun has been extra improved.
Languages. Companion for most activities such as gaming, museums, hikes etc
If you wanna hang out at night Im great company fr that too! In fact I would love a local to take me to their favorite spot in town, show me the nicest non touristy bar and so on. Specially when I travel alone can be a pain to find a nice bar and sit there for a beer.
