About Me

My name is Juliana, and I'm in my junior year at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. I'm studying English currently, not exactly sure where it will take me but hopefully someday I will have the opportunity to write. I love where I'm from, Milwaukee is one of my favorite cities. But, I love traveling more and intend on doing it for the rest of my life. So far, I've lived in Kenya, and visited the Netherlands, England, France, Haiti, Iceland, and Mexico. I plan on starting to extend my trips when I graduate and take some time off.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to Couchsurf because I've heard so many good things about it from friends, and people I've met through my travels. I want to meet new people and experience my trips in new ways, and I think this is the next part of that.

Interests

I love reading, writing short stories, enabling my tea addiction, learning French, spending time when I'm not at work with friends and family, watching Lord of the Rings, eating tons of food, discovering little bookstores, and traveling whenever I get the chance.

Music, Movies, and Books

A few of my favorite bands include Twenty One Pilots, Halsey, Royal Blood, Hudson Taylor, Florence + The Machine, James Bay, Frank Turner, and Kodaline. I only have a few favorite movies and they are The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Moulin Rouge, The Phantom of the Opera, Ondine, and Braveheart. Now onto my favorite: books. Currently, a list of my favorite books include The Virgin Suicides, Miranda July's book of short stories, The Beautiful and Damned, Mary Oliver's poetry, Lolita, Anna Karenina, Middlesex, The Bell Jar, and The Salt God's Daughter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently, the most amazing thing I've done that I can't get over is skydiving. I went for the first time and it was so incredible. I loved, LOVED, falling out of the plane and through the sky, it was absolutely unreal. I want to try and make a solo jump the next time I go.
