About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am SO excited to meet people from different parts of the world! I am fascinated by people (I did my degree in sociology), have travelled extensively all over the world, and now work in the world of Human Resources. I do not always have the time to trave

ABOUT ME

Where to start....I have a naturally optimistic outlook on life, and try very hard to understand this world and the people in it with an open mind. Ever since I was young I have had such a strong desire to travel the world and discover the importance of customs and practices in other cultures, and to get out of my everyday habits that were so ingrained in me when I was in highschool. Right after I finished O.A.C. I moved to London, England with not much more than a big backpack, a passport and a working visa. At 18 I learned what it was like to live and work on my own in a completely different country without Mom and Dad around to hold my hand - the people I met and the experiences I had there in those 8 months changed my life and who I would become as an adult. I travelled around Europe - France, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, and got bitten by the travel bug, only to realize I had been accepted into Uni back home and had to return. My one semester at Ryerson in the Business program just wasn't cutting it for me - I needed change once again in my life, so after a few months of working hard and saving money, my boyfriend and I drove from Toronto to Vancouver, visiting all the major cities in between the two points, and I went to University out there. The years that I was in Van were some of the most amazing in my life. Not only did I get to attend a university located on the top of a mountain overlooking the city and the Pacific Ocean, I got to travel all over in between school breaks - Hawaii, Las Vegas, Seattle, Mexico, Portland, Edmonton, and around B.C. I did my degree in Sociology and Communications and loved every single minute of it that I could never have too many courses in one semester =o). When I graduated Uni I got a job on a cruise line serving and bartending. I hated the experience of having to work 15 hour days and for once in my life could NOT adjust to my new surroundings and got off the ship very quickly. After 2 months of planning and all the money I had to my name I spent 4 months travelling around the world - London, Barcelona, India (Bombay, Goa, Bangalore, Chennai), Singapore, Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang), Cambodia, Australia (Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney), New Zealand (North and South Island), Tonga, Samoa, L.A., Scotland and Ireland. I still cannot explain in words how glad I am that I went on this trip. My boyfriend stayed back home working the entire time while I was gone and could not have been more supportive! The constant chatting online and the phone calls made it that much more special, Visiting one of the most diverse and economically challenged countries in the world such as India opened my eyes to the reality of life and the economic disparities between countries. Right now I am just working and enjoying every day of life - of course planning my next around the world trip WITH my bf this time. I think everyday of life is a blessing and should never be taken for granted. Be thankful for all that you have!!!!!!

They had an extra bedroom, provided clean sheets and towels and in the morning even made us breakfast! Theyw ere such a nice couple and it was an amazing experience!
