My name is Julie, I'm 23 and I'm from France. I'm a freelance make-up artist and hairdresser and I decided to start backpacking so that I could build up my confidence, get out of my comfort zone, discover new cultures and meet new people.

What I'd like is to discover a country with the locals. To be able to be with them in their daily lives, even if only for a short time.

During my trip to Thailand, what I missed was being in almost constant contact with the locals. I met a lot of travellers in hostels, but I would have liked to have experienced 'couchsurfing' too.

If I had to name my favourite film it would be "My sister's keeper". But there are many others.

As for music, I can name Michael Jackson, Queen, Rihanna, Beyoncé...

My best experience was my trip to Thailand. It was my 1st backpacking trip.

I'd like to share my smile and my story, but above all l'd like to learn from them. Learning the local cuisine, continuing to practise English, learning the local language, doing activities with children, visit the country and make new friends.
