Overview
About Me
I am a recent graduate, and I am now paving the way for a lifelong career and want to have fun doing it! I just finished working a harvest at a winery on the Sonoma Coast in California, spent a few months learning to be Assistant Brewer at a brewery in Mississippi, and will soon leave for the next vintage at a winery in McLaren Vale.
I am enjoying learning about winemaking - everything from the vineyard to glass, and hope to make a career out of it. I am a firm believer in doing what you love!
I grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the United States - literally on the bayou. So, from early on I have enjoyed spending a lot of time in the outdoors. I have also always been curious about other cultures, languages, music, food... so, I suppose it was no surprise when I decided to study geography in the university. I am inherently curious and interested in learning about places, different cultures, learning languages, and, in general, as much as I can about the world in which I am a part. I want to live life to the fullest, and for me that means experiencing new places and meet amazing people on this life's journey.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books
I grew up listening to artists like Credence Clearwater Revival, Elton John, Bob Dylan, Zeppelin, The Beatles, Cat Stevens, The Band... Now, I appreciate and enjoy music of all types: blues to reggae, electronic to bluegrass, rock to bossa nova, latin to folk. More recently, I am enjoying more and more music that makes me want to dance!
Like music, I enjoy movies of all kinds - action, suspense/thriller, dramas, comedies, but I am a sucker for a great romantic movie!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living in a desert at the foothills of the Andes in western Argentina - there I stayed with a family of goat and sheep herders conducting fieldwork for my thesis. I am forever grateful for those that I met there - I shared some amazing weeks getting to know some of the most amazing and kind people who forever changed the way that I view and live my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
You would be hard-pressed not to exchange ideas, memories, experiences with others when getting to know them - what is taught, learned, and shared is unique to every experience, but I am certain that good times will be had!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation, perhaps over a glass of wine... I enjoy cooking so maybe we could cook something delicious together? If you are looking to also get out and about in town or explore other parts of Australia for that matter, I could be good company - I love both the day and nightlife, so just about anything that you have in mind I would be keen! Let's see a band, go dancing, have brunch and a coffee at a local café, soak up some rays on the beach, go hiking?? If not, that's ok, too (:
