About Me

I am a 31 years-old girl who literally LOVES traveling. I have been traveling as soon as I became independent, age 17, to meet the world and its people. Put me in a 4-walls place and I'll become the safest person, give me mountains, roads and smily faces, and I become the happiest one !
I decided to come back to Paris 4 years ago, after living 5 years in Istanbul, Turkey, where I lived one one the best parts of my life. Since my return, I try to go kick the roads every now and then.
I work as a project manager in aid and development, so I also travel a lot though my work (mostly MENA countries), always trilled by the discovery of new cultures and languages (well I have to say I have a distorsion for Mediterannean countries and Central Asia!). I love sharing, hearing and telling stories. I love entering in deep conversations and laughing at the same time. Some of the people who definitely marked my life are individuals I may have met only once, around a tea or a glass of wine. Around true and funny conversations..

About Flo, my companion: he is a 35 years old guy, which has similar tastes with me (except photography ahah, he says he does not have the "eye" for it). He works and lives for Agriculture. He has a little farm in Central France, and loves going there as much as he can, as he needs nature and silence as a balance in his life. The rest of the time, he loves chilling out, reading... and talking :-) Very talkative person interested in any subject ! You will love him (they all say that!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So why am I on Couchsurfing... for people and the love of travel, as simple as that ! I precise that I have had an account for more than 10 years now, but I did not use it since 2012, I lost my password but you can check my public profile on: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/djou_djou and also my Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DJULYA.

Concerning Florian (Flo), he has never had a CS account, but totally feel to live his first CS experience during our next adventure. You can please check his profile on Facebook and messaging him if you feel to: https://www.facebook.com/flo.kersam

Music, Movies, and Books

Outch... the list would be too too long... I prefer to share that with you on live!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being host in Syria, before the war started, by a poor family in the north of the country amongst which the wife gave birth during my stay there... and be able to talk with this same family only in Turkish because the Grandma had learnt it in school, while the rest of the family was only speaking arabic. You need to use fully your 5 senses when you can not talk the local language.. I cannot tell the feelings that passed though me that very night, which has been a total coincidence, we were lost with my friend, the family found and hosted us... and a miracle was born for the rest of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teak my mother language, French, even English, that I taught as a private teacher back then when I was living in Turkey.
But more than that, I can share my love for life, for the philosophy of living and being patient... even if I am still a learner and student myself :-)

What I Can Share with Hosts
