About Me

I'm doing my first real Eurotrip and hoping to make some new friends and experience Europe in a more authentic with locals. Hopefully, I'm able to offer some enjoyable conversation and cooking as well!

I was born and raised in Northern Virginia, right outside of Washington D.C. I moved to NYC for university and then moved out to the west coast immediately after graduating and it's been the biggest catalyst for growth and development in my life. I've been living in San Francisco for 4 years now and absolutely LOVE how open minded and welcoming the city is. I've had a chance to explore the tech world via larger tech companies and smaller startups but I've recently focused my attention and intention on my music. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for a way to explore and discover Europe in a way that feels as genuine and authentic to the local experience as possible. I also love meeting new people and making life long connections! Hopefully I'm able to return the favor and show you around San Francisco!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Following high school, I spent three years working and backpacking through South America before starting college. It was a life changing experience full of growth and unexpected challenges, namely the time my most critical possessions (passport, credit cards, etc.) were stolen on a night bus from Mancora to Huaraz in Peru. Using the little Spanish I had learned on the trip, I found my way to the U.S. Embassy in Lima to register for a new passport, which would take approximately two weeks to arrive. With no money or forms of identification, I borrowed a fellow backpacker’s Lonely Planet guidebook to research the city’s most popular hostels. After landing on Pariwana Hostel, I negotiated a work-trade deal with the owner, Alonso. In exchange for free accommodation and food, I’d help him with marketing initiatives, revamp their website, and lead cultural excursions for hostel guests. One of my favorite memories was recruiting a team of backpackers to help create a promotional video highlighting Lima’s charming hotspots. The video is still viewable on Pariwana’s Facebook page: https://goo.gl/BTebNt! These globetrotters went on to become some of my closest friends on this trip. We even went down to Cusco with Alonso to help him open Pariwana’s second location. Eight years later, we remain in close contact and have reunited in different parts of the world.
