ABOUT ME

Hello ... Bonjour :)

I am Julien, and my best friends call me 'Dos', probably because of my Portuguese origins.
Some brazilian guys prefer 'Zizu' like nickname, and I appreciate because of my passion for soccer.

I grew up in France, in Paris' suburbs. I studied in a Business School in the South East of France, where I developped skills in the sports management.

Today, I am 26 years old, and I have lots of project's life:
One of them is travelling, for developing friendships and opening my mind...

I am a simple guy with human values who loves:
Spending a spiritual and philosophical moment in a natural environment ...
Inviting his friends for a dinner, then sharing life experiences around a drink...
Beginning the night whith a home before, then partying in a dancing place ...

PHILOSOPHY

I come from the Western world, so, I grew up with the consumption society and its values: individual confort, materialistic environment.

But, I am not defending that world, even if I think I can't be totally separated of, because of my social eduaction.

I'am done for a simple 'peace and love' life, with friends and family around me, happiness in smiles and eyes...

however, for the moment, young and strong as i am :) i want an exciting life, and travelling it one of the best way i met to make me feel alive and free

i am proud to live within a generation of travelers, it's a cultural development we are experiencing, and i am following an international move which satisfy my overseas needs ...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really love the Couch Surfing Project, because it proves than ...Humanity is Good...

Even if, unfortunately, sometimes, it's hard to believe ..

I am the kind of guy who is confident with people, who gives easily a smile or a hand.
Now, traveling, I am the guy who needs, but in the future, everyone of you will be more than welcome at my place :)

Let's enjoy all together ...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Having met a special couch surfer of Queenstown, New Zealand, is one the best experience in my whole life.

At the beginning, it was just for a drink, but the first meeting was very interesting.

Learning about my situation of sleeping in my car during these winter times, she finally invited me to her place and introduced me to her lovely family.

I spent two weeks with them, enjoying so much. Thanks to her, she is just an awesome friend I will keep for all my life...

That's the kind of meeting the CS project allows.

Interests

I am keen on soccer. Playing it, watching it or teaching it to children are parts of a real passion.
Open minded in sports in general.

Besides, I am listening music a lot: hip hop, reggae, dancehall, latin music, soul, funk, african rythms, jazz, electro ...

I like reading which let me fly away in my dreams, i have interests for cooking, for writing...

and an awesome moment of life: laughing

Music, Movies, and Books

I read lots of books than speak about human projetcs and real experiences.
My three favourites are:
- 'El oro' from Cyzia Zyke, the gold hunting of a single man in the jungle of Costa Rica...
- '80 men to change the world', the story of a worldwide trip of two guys to meet entrepreneurs who change the world with environmental projects
- 'De Puta Madre' from Pierre Delannoy, which describes a trip of two men all around Central and Latin America.

In the music world, I have a psychologic mentor, a French hip-hop singer, called Keny Arkana.
In two words, she militates against the worldwide economic system which is based on individualism and allows the domination of some particular minorities.

I appreciate the French cinema, with actors like Vincent Cassel or Marion Cotillard.
My favourite film is 'Mesrine' which relates the life of the most popular public ennemy of the French history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It was in last March, during a trip in Brazil, where I spent a whole week partying: The Carnaval of Salvador de Bahia, is just one of the most amazing event in Earth.

Millions of people dancing on 'Axé' music they all know by heart, from 7 to 77 years old, Brazilians are in connection and the feeling of unity is incredible.

It is a moment of total human happiness, when all people forget their personnal problems for a while, to celebrate life, dance and music.

It was just awesome !

Teach, Learn, Share

One of my personnal project is to develop the practice of foreign languages.

For example, I really love speaking, or more exactly 'trying to speak', Spanish and Portuguese. Just listening these latin accents make me feel good...

From th opposite side, I will never refuse to share my skills in French :)
