ABOUT ME

I moved to Germany to work after finishing my Master's degree. So far so good.

I like to discover new things.
I do not smoke, do not have any pets.
I am also very flexibly almost vegan, but willing to accommodate/try/compromise.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I can host people who want to come to Ulm.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a couple of people and also met many local couchsurfers from area where I live.

My overall couchsurfing experience has however been somewhat mixed, due to on multiple occasions guests making other plans and not bothering to tell me. I've also found it hard to get any reply at all to a couch request, even a negative one. Don't worry, I can take it. ; )

Interests

Sports : Marathons, hockey (Go Habs Go!), tennis, badminton, hiking, ...
Beer, tea, food.
Languages (mostly of the germanic/nordic family). I periodically try to learn Danish and/or Norwegian.
Music, movies.
Nordic culture.

Movies : Dogme 95, Lars von Trier, Tarantino, Woody Allen, Robert Altman, etc.
Music : I like rock, indie, punk, ska, among others. Some of my favourites are The Dagons, The Moldy Peaches, Wolf Parade, Sleater-Kinney, The Offspring, The Planet Smashers.
Books : Agatha Christie, Gaston Leroux. British detective/mystery novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw and walked on the pyramids in Melnik
Saw and walked on the cliffs in Étretat, Upper-Normandy.
Swam with fish in the Cayman Islands.
Climbed a waterfall in Jamaica.
Skied in the Austrian Alps.
Took the train from Oslo to Bergen.

I have run a few marathons and half-marathons. I can probably give you some advice if you intend to pick up running or want to participate in such an event.
