ABOUT ME

Hey all !

I'm a very optimistic and enthusiastic person! I try to see the positive in every single thing :)

I love taking long walks, because it gives me time to think and dream freely. However, I'm absolutely terrible with directions, so I often find myself taking much longer walks than I had intended to take...

I've got 7 siblings (2 little brothers and 5 little sisters), whom I love very much. They all have very different personalities, and I think that helps me a lot in bonding with people, even with those I don't have much in common with :)

I eat veggie food only and love cooking :) !! I'd be particularly interested in learning new recipes from around the world :D !!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm very new to this CS experience, I've only hosted once but I had a great time!! It was also the opportunity for me to take the time to visit Paris, and share my love for French culture (and food!!)
I've also been hosted once, by a very nice and inspiring lady in London :)

Interests

Things I like include:
- learning foreign languages and reading foreign books in their original language,
- playing with children,
- cooking and having my friends over for dinner,
- playing games,
- going to the movies,
- taking a walk to admire beautiful landscapes,
- doing outdoor activities such as rafting or kayaking etc

Music, Movies, and Books

I love fantasy books (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The wheel of time etc), French (Barjavel, Mérimée, Comtesse de Ségur, Maupassant and many others) and British literature (Jane Austen, Charlotte and Emily Brontë, Charles Dickens etc)

I love all types of movie except for horror movies -I'm in fact still trying to get over the extremely traumatising movies I was forced into watching as a teenager

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- talked on skype with Aung San Suu Kyi
- currently going on a solo trip for 5 months :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I've taught French classes for a year while I was in China, so if you want to practice your French or learn the basics, I'd be glad to help you :)
I'm very interested in the French culture, so I would enjoy sharing my knowledge about it with anyone expressing an interest in it.

I'd be overjoyed to help you discover French cuisine, and would make a point to cook traditional French dishes for you :) !!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share funny travel stories since I regularly end up in extremely awkward situations... x)
If you want to brush up your French or start to learn French, I'd be totally down to helping you with that :)
More generally, I'd bring my smile and positive attitude, and would be open to anything and everything :) !!
