MY CALLING:

I took up with the humanistic challenge of integrating creative expression, scientific curiosity, and civic engagement in one life.

I am wondering how "understanding" comes about and studying it in whatever way I can.

I enjoy the inventiveness of language, the vigor of people, the inspiration of ideas, the rapture of dancing let loose, the bustling aroma of good coffee.

I deeply care for people's personal growth, for overcoming violence and aggression, for young people's future, for positive change and individual responsibility. This is why I dedicate much of my time to Scouting, a religiously independent movement for education and peace.

Little contributes more to a fulfilled time, than great people around us.
It is other humans that I learn from, fellows that I laugh with, encounters that shift my world view, friends that carry me, mentors that challenge me, and loved ones that make me dream.

Much too often when I went abroad, I was merely visiting – not experiencing the place in its multifacetedness. So, I decided to stop being a tourist and start being a traveler.
