Overview
About Me
I was born in Korea, but I moved to America when I was 8 years old. I grew up in Texas, and my mom really made me try lots of things growing up. I learned a bit of martial arts (taekwondo) and did some swimming (recreation), fencing, and rowing. I also enjoy music, and I sing. I was in choir growing up and joined the school band (clarinet) for a while too. I just studied a semester abroad at the University of St Andrews. I drink Guiness sometimes, but I don't really drink too much. My dad is a photographer and my mum used to be a kindergarten teacher. I love my mum.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm really a social butterfly and love meeting new people. I enjoy taking the time to talk to basically anyone anywhere. At my University, I know all of the dining staff by name, and they always give me extra food and tell me that I'm their "son" and that they love me. It has been fun getting to know them personally, and i made me realize that everyone has a story to tell. I enjoy hearing people's stories. Also, I want to meet the local people while I travel abroad.
Interests
I want to find the answers to my religious questions during my travels abroad. I grew up a Christian, but I have had multiple doubts recently. I am also interested in many different cultures in the world. I especially love foreign food and sweets. And I LOVE chocolate.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like watching any type of good movies (007, Titanic, Elf, Pixar movies, King's Speech, Papillon, Rush Hour, Zombieland). I also read some japanese manga and korean manwha. And I read a lot of books growing up such as Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones.
I also watch a lot of TV like the Walking Dead, Spartacus, Game of Thrones, and NCIS.
I also enjoy Broadway musicals. My dad's artistic blood flows in me, and I'm always enjoying artistic things/ visiting museums and taking pictures.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I drank tea at the cafe in Edinburgh where Harry Potter was written. Also, I got to sing at the Meyerson Theater in Dallas accompanied by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at a Christmas concert. And I got to visit the DMZ (the place that separates North and South Korea).
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Korean and English. I used to volunteer as a translator for World Vision for a short period of time.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I know how to cook Italian food! And make it really spicy. :) I learned from Mexican chefs at my family owned Italian restaurant back in Texas.
