About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have and to facilitate varied life experiences

PHILOSOPHY

I practice honest, non-violent communication. I want to constantly challenge my fears in an effort to have many diverse and interesting experiences and become a more confident and loving person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have yet to participate strongly in the CS Project, but am incredibly excited that CS exists and will be happy to do more hosting and surfing in the future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been in the position to host surfers only once, and really enjoyed the experience. I would love to do it again, but currently I live in a very small cabin far from the center of town. I have had a few very positive couch surfing experiences - I especially loved the long beautiful bike ride that a host in Ireland was generous enough to take me on!

Interests

I am very interested in botanical medicine, and enjoy finding out the specific remedies that are used in countries and states that I travel to. I would be happy to learn about identifying and harvesting edible mushrooms! I love to meet new people and listen to their stories. I enjoy bicycling, hiking, reading, and dancing. Currently, I am about to embark upon nurse-midwifery training in the United States.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love folk songs and music I can dance to. I just finished reading "Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson and feel very inspired by his story. I enjoy adventurous books: West with the Night, People of the Book, Sweetness in the Belly, Into the Wild, Tracks, The Alchemist, Life of Pi, Babycatcher, etc. as well as books about herbalism, midwifery, writing, social organisation, "Back to the land" ethics, traditional crafts, and house building.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

El Camino de Santiago - everything about it. I wish I could walk through countryside and between villages forever.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a bit about western herbal medicine. I would love to learn to play the banjo.

Countries I’ve Visited

Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
