About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy NYC and meet interesting people

ABOUT ME

I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and by the age of 8 my family and I moved to Buzios, a small touristic destination close to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Grewing up in a small touristic town couldn't be better: I had all the freedom a kid/teenager would love to have, and the constant contact with people from all around the world and different backgrounds instilled in me with fascination for traveling and foreign cultures.

Living in such a place, with not much to do besides hanging out with friends, doing sports and enjoying nature, made me appreciate enjoying the simple things of life, and that's what I seek to do every day!

Some years ago my family went back to Argentina and I decided to stay in Rio de Janeiro, where I have lived since I was 18. Despite I miss my parents and brothers so badly sometimes, this place is so amazing and captivating, and people here are so happy and friendly, that I didn't feel like living anywhere else, until I went to NY in 2011.

NY... well, NY is NY!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm driven by the same insight Joel (Jim Carrey) has in the last scenes of Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. Although a simple insight, it comes only after a long journey. If you didn't watch this movie, stop reading here. Not only the text below will make little sense to you, but it would also spoil an awesome movie that is worth watching for its simple, elegant and amazing philosophy (plus a very interesting love story)!

After the a long and desperate hide and seek in his mind to keep at least one memory of his girlfriend Clementine from being erased in the medical procedure, when she is about to be completely erased from Joel's memory, he realizes that he can't do anything else; she will be gone forever. He then stops trying to hide, calmly sits by the beach, and looks to the ocean as if nothing was happening:

Clementine: This is it, Joel... It's gonna be gone soon.
joel: I know.
Clementine: What do we do?
Joel: Enjoy it.

Interests

Like any couchsurfer, traveling is on the top of the list for all the experiences they can provide: meeting interesting people from all over the world; sightseeing beautiful places; observing differences in cultures; taking pictures of people and places...
