CURRENT MISSION

Finding happiness and meaning

ABOUT ME

I am a 28yo German with Dutch roots. I live in Dortmund, Western Germany, where I studied sports sciences. I got to interact with many amazing like-minded people in my studies, which is one of the great things about it. Right now I'm working self employed in different fields.

I love the life of travelling and being independent. As much as I love traveling in a group I also enjoy exploring the environment on my own - both is great, but everything is nicer in good company. This is why I'm here :)

I am an absolute nature lover and I'm thankful for every chance to break free. I love animals and I stand up for animal welfare so I often took home some stray animals from my trips and worked together with organisations to find the little ones a new forever home back in Germany.

Outdoor sports are my passion. I don't mind if it's in the mountains or at the seaside. Doing some freeriding in the winter and trying to get better at surfing as well as learning to kitesurf in the summer are my goals related to sports. I also play a lot of Beachvolleyball where I work as a coach in international camps and I love the vibe around basketball. I always try to find myself new adventures and challenges.

Apart from sports what really makes me happy is being creative. I'm just trying to figure out what suits me the best though. I love woodcrafting and I also want to learn more about painting and arts. I think it helps a lot to settle the mind.
Music is a big part as well as it is somehow the gate to dreaming. I love slow melodic vibes, enjoy dancing and for partying it will be hard and fast Techno, especially on outdoor raves. Also learning an instrument will be something important to do in the future.

I guess right now I'm more than ever on a trip of finding spiritual meaning and want to find out what life is all about. I'm very openminded about that and always up for the experiment.

PHILOSOPHY

Live free or die is the motto of New Hampshire (USA), where I spend a year for a voluntary service in a home for mentally challenged people after I finished school (that was in 2012). I still stick with it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I was in the US I travelled anytime I had the chance to do so and Couchsurfing was the perfect way to interact. Back in Germany while studying I didnt use Couchsurfing so much but now I'm back on the plattform. I also started hosting this year :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my year abroad I travelled a lot through the area of New England and also to Canada, Florida and Puerto Rico. In Europe I met amazing surfers in big metropoles and also small islands or in the alps.

For turning night into day Techno is the choice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just livin la vida loca in general. There are amazing things I've done but even more left to come :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Each one teach one ...
I believe everyone can teach everyone - it's just about being openminded and listening to peoples' story. I always love to talk to people from a different background as it broadens your horizon which is a beautiful thing.
Life is just about that I guess
