ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Jurjanne, but everyone calls me Jur since my full name is difficult even for Dutch standards. Like the Heineken commercial, you could say I was "born in the Netherlands, but raised by the world" as i've traveled a lot in my 24 years on this planet.
5 months ago I packed up/gave away most of my material possessions and left Amsterdam for a journey around the America's with no set destination nor end-date. So far i've traveled all around Canada and the US and can't wait to start adventuring through Central + South America.
This past year i've been acquiring some savings by working full-time as a manager of an organic burger restaurant, while finishing up my degree in Cultural Studies at the University of Amsterdam.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first learned about Couch surfing during my semester in New Zealand. My awesome flatmates were constantly hosting people from all over the world, which made our time there even more legendary! One of the couch surfers even build a back porch swing that became loved and famous among the student-flat residents!
After the semester was over me and my Canadian best friend couch surfed all over the Australian East coast. This was an eye opening and mind blowing experience for the both of us, as we were welcomed with open arms everywhere we went.

Can't WAIT to start surfing again :D
