Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

couchsurfing.org has provided me a number of special opportunities to learn of the world. I have surfed some couches. I have attended some gatherings. I have lurked in forums. I hope to do more of all of these things in the future.

For most of the last couple years I didn't have a couch on offer. We now again have a home that can accommodate a guest!
Even if not able to host for a night, I love meeting new people and am glad to share what I know of where I happen to be.

I also talk frequently with people _about_ couchsurfing.org, for it is an interesting case study in trust networks and online communities, relevant to my interests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only small slivers of my life to date have had couches on offer. I have spent far more of my life receiving of the great humbling generosity of others.
On the occasions that I have hosted guests, it has generally been a delight. I want to do it much more.
