Hello,
I recently moved back to the Adirondacks from Oregon. Originally from the area, I have interests in paddling, hiking, climbing, ice-climbing, skiing, snowboarding and recently paragliding.
Although my wife recently passed away, we shared an interest in international travel and loved hosting people from all over the world that share our interest in the outdoors, culture and any good food.
I also have interests in home gardening and have a nice garden on the property.
Other stuff: Music(anything), Food(anything), Pets(I have a small dog, she's great for hikes)
Born and raised in Upstate NY. Lived in Oregon, Washington, Vermont, Maryland, Pennsylvania and the UK.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I have traveled a bunch in South/Central America, Europe, and the Pacific Islands and am planning on doing alot more traveling in the upcoming years. I think Couchsurfing is a great way to get to know new places much faster and immerse myself in everything a place has to offer. During a recent trip to Cuba, I learned how much better it is to learn from local people. I am happy share my place with travelers and showing them how great the outdoors is, just 3 hours from New York City. I enjoy learning from other folks what's great about the place where they live, especially if it has to do with outdoor sports, culture, dance, art, music or different food.

Books: Last of the Mohicans, The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, Travels with Charlie, Blue Highways. (Big fan of audio books, because I drive alot)

Invented Peanut butter. (well, I eat alot of it anyway)
Skied off the summit of Denali with my brother a few years back.
Paddled the Atlantic coast from Miami to Manhattan with my wife and a good friend.
I make a kickass grill cheese sandwhich.
