MONTH LONG ESCAPE TO PANAMA & COLOMBIA
Up-for-almost-anything, spontaneous and easygoing - I am a fan of adventure and extremes.
Always evolving. To borrow some words:
If you're procrastinating on writing your first great novel: “How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live.”
(Henry David Thoreau)
If you're feeling lonely: "Develop an interest in life as you see it; the people, things, literature, music - the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself" - Henry Miller
Presently, I can't see too far beyond my next plane ticket and the exploring and adventures it will bring.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have surfed in Bangkok, Sydney and Melbourne. Have yet to host!
Have met some seriously charming individuals who made me feel comfortable in a new place with no shortage of good stories!
I am interested in different cultures, food, photography, documentary film, dancing, books, the outdoors (especially hiking!) and doing how the locals do. And traveling of course.
Music, Movies, and Books
Big fan of the dark comedy and documentary films. Last movie I really enjoyed in the theatre was Boyhood by Richard Linklater.
A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson
Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly by Anthony Bourdain
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some amazing travel moments include: getting lost and living with a hill-tribe in Northern Thailand, climbing Mount Kinabalu at sunrise in Borneo, celebrating Thai New Year in Chiang Mai, crashing a Cambodian village wedding in Chi Phat, mountain-biking through the Cardamom Mountains, crossing the Cambodia-Vietnam border on motorbike and hiking the infamous Kalalau Trail in Kauai!
Teach, Learn, Share
Some of the things I am especially interested in learning more about at present include: wine, motorcycling, long-distance hiking, learning spanish, working on a luxury yacht, traveling Central and South America, digital photography and travel blogging.
Some of the things I can share: stories from travel in Europe and Southeast Asia, living abroad and teaching English in Taiwan, going on a working holiday in Australia, planting trees for money in the Canadian wilderness, skydiving, surviving Grad School.
