About Me

I am a third-year university student studying Linguistics and Japanese. I want to become fluent in Japanese. In order to become fluent, I plan to travel to Japan where I can be surrounded by native speakers. I think language is the most powerful tool humans have and want to learn more about it. How do humans learn to speak? How can people learn different languages?

Also, I like dogs, music, drawing, and sports (mainly soccer and tennis).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like a place to stay for the one night after my flight arrives in Japan before I go to stay in Nanzan University's dorm, Yamazato Koryu Kaikan.

Books: Self-Improvement, Fiction, philosophy.

Movies: Memento, Zootopia, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Winning 2-d state art competition: I drew a picture of Narcissus. Narcissus was a mythological man who was so beautiful that when he stared at his own reflection, he continued to look at it until he died. My picture was a lead and conte reduction drawing of Narcissus looking into his reflection in a pond.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am left handed. Ask me about it, unless you are also left handed. Even if you are, I like sharing about how life is different for left-handed people.
