I am a teacher from the United States who is currently teaching in Dakar, Senegal in West Africa. I love anything that has to do with educating and inspiring the generation that is being raised up. I love traveling and learning through experiences and cultures from other people. The classroom is great, but learning is best done when immersed in a culture among a people.

I am extremely laid back and love anything outdoors and in nature. I am very much a free spirit who hates schedules, loves the outdoors, and loves learning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing to learn from locals. I don’t want to see all the tourist spots, I truly want to step into and see life as a local would in cultures all around the world. It is through this that I am better able to learn myself and help my students understand the importance of celebrating cultural differences.

I moved to Ecuador and lived in the jungle among a community for almost 6 months
