Overview
About Me
My real name is Justin but everyone I know calls me Artie, and has pretty much since i was born. I'm a pretty mellow fellow. I like playing guitar, mostly on my couch for my cats, but sometimes at small bars and music venues for people too. I do some occasional woodworking when its warm out, and I like to get out to live music pretty often. I work some nights at The Exchange (the coolest dang music venue in Regina, in my opinion) so that helps with seeing lots of the local talent. I get outdoors a little bit, I do some camping/light hiking around sask. I enjoy traveling, usually with my lady friend Cindy, but occasionally solo as well.
My day job is being a telephone technician at Sasktel, the local phone company. We've hosted a couple times via Cindy's profile, and we were hosted a few times on our hitchhiking trip across Canada a few years ago, so although my profile is newish, I've had some experience with couchsurfing already.
Also, i love food so very much, so everywhere I go i want to eat all the local treats
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet people, and find some good company while Im travelling solo. Also to see some local hidden gems and get a feel for the local day to day life of places Im visiting. I tend to avoid overly touristy places, as sometimes crowds drive me a bit bonkers.

Music, Movies, and Books
Prrretty varied taste as far as music is concerned. I listen to a little bit of everything.
Jack Johnson, Josh Ritter, Wes Montgomery Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, BB king, Janis Joplin, Charles Bradley (All soul music in general really)
Also all types of 90s punk (pennywise, nofx and such) I enjoy live metal shows, but I don't listen to it outside of that as much as I did in my younger days
I like all sorts of movies as well, usually comedies or horror flicks but a good movie is a good movie either way.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Took two weeks of intensive flamenco guitar lessons in a school in Granada, Spain. The school itself was dug into the side of a mountain and the "classrooms" we studied were actual caves. I spent mannnny hours in there keeping up with lessons and just enjoying the acoustics.
Teach, Learn, Share
Those who end up staying at our place will likely receive some sort of homemade honey/berry wine if that's your thing. My girlfriend is probably the friendliest person around and loves crafting and sharing ideas and time doing that. Campfires in the summer are likely when there's people over. If there's any music going on around town we'd love to show it off. I might be biased but I think Regina has a pretty great lil music scene.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Im pretty easy going and easy to get along with, so figuring out plans (or lack thereof) is pretty easy.
Im open to anything from hiking/canoeing and camping outside somewhere, to just hanging out watching movies and having a drink with some chit chat.
