CURRENT MISSION

My aim is to discover my own personal paradise and passions but I am not in any great hurry to find them......I intend to enjoy the journey!

ABOUT ME
At the age of 45 I was fortunate enough to take early retirement from Fire-fighting and so took full advantage of the opportunity to explore the World and drag my teenage daughter along with me! After 18 months of extensive travel with her I am now going it alone! I loved my joint travel experiences and now I enjoy the freedom of travelling solo.... I just can’t seem to stop now!.

I participate in the local social events and I am happy to try new ventures. In the future when I finally settle in my perfect place, I intend to provide accommodation for travellers from all over the world to feel welcome at all times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have mixed couch surfing with house-sitting, renting and voluntary work.

Interests

I like to think that I do things that keep me healthy - physically, mentally and emotionally ( copious amounts of wine is the exception!) A bad back has caused me to slow down on the sporting activities now but I still enjoy hiking and yoga.
I like to help people and I am always seeking ways in which to make a difference to people's lives for the better if possible.
I enjoy new experiences and consider myself to be adventurous with an open mind.

Music, Movies, and Books

I especially enjoy live music..... from open mike sessions in pub basements to huge concert venues.
I can appreciate most forms of music but favour the likes of James Morrison, Ed Sheeran, Jason Mraz, Jessie J, Bruno Mars, Pink, Fun and Eminem.....and quite a few others!
I enjoy thrillers, adventure, fantasy and movies with a true historical story. I also enjoy comedy, especially British.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think this is one for discussion. What one person may consider to be amazing can be pretty unspectacular for another and vice versa!
I did manage to keep a cool head whilst sitting in my home in Nicaragua during a 7 hour gun fight surrounding me!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to discover new things, new places and new people. I get a buzz from meeting new people and I like to think that I am non-judgemental and can show an interest in everyone and what they have to share. I like to believe that I can also be of inspiration to others.
I have led a very unconventional life and tried many skills and hobbies over the years. I am happy to share stories of all of my experiences - good and bad! I expect that I will always be learning something from others for the rest of my life and I welcome it all
