ABOUT ME

In the belief that your life is made up of the experiences you have and the people you meet, I attempt to continually try brand new things and meet brand new people.

Some of these things and people enter and leave briefly with no lasting impact. Some of these touch your world once and leave an indelible mark. And some of them become a fixture in your life and change how you view the world. I imagine couchsurfing would be a good way to meet all three of those people.

PHILOSOPHY

The world is a wonderful place. The vast, vast majority of it's inhabitants are amazing people.

I suppose I believe in the abstract version of karma, for I've always been confident that leaving the world a little bit better of a place will positively effect me immediately or in the future.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While I'm new to this website, I've spent more than my fair share of time in sleeping bags on the other people's floors, and am eternally grateful to them.

I'm now in a position to repay the universe a little for the kindness dealt to me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My wife and I have couchsurfed -- officially and unofficially! -- in multiple states and several countries . We have hosted people at our home from both the US and Europe, and have had uniformly wonderful experiences!

Interests

Traveling, of course. Tricky problems, juggling, movement, climbing, creating websites, learning guitar, reading, writing, anything I haven't done before.

Many science fiction books. My fiance is much more well read in the classics than I.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A trip to Haiti forever changed the way I view the world, and how I want to live my life. Seeing so many live with so little in such deplorable conditions, while being truly happy, changes you.

There's so much need in the world, coupled with so much good, that if we were just able to harness it and apply it correctly, we could make such an impact.
