ABOUT ME

I'm from the South of Germany, lived for five years in berlin, came back and now we are in the process to move back to Berlin. 🙃 I studied computer science and work as a Web Frontend Engineer at a way too large corporation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

By now I was all over the world in Cuba, India, multiple countries in Africa, USA, Russia, South-East-Asia ... But although we were backpacking we always were in hotels because I was too afraid of visiting strangers in their homes. I'm also a pretty low key shy guy, but I intend to change that from time to time because you don't meet new interesting people by walking around a busy city on your own.

Interests

I love Mountainbiking and cycling in general especially as a way of transport. I also do Montainbike Racing since 15 years and lately added Gravel racing to my palmares. 😅 But I also love to just rolling through a (cyclist friendly) city or through the woods to get to a nice lake.
The other big hobby is visiting concerts. I just love to see musicians doing their thing live on stage and feel the energy of the crowd. Mostly you can find me on rock-related concerts, but also some Hip Hop and electronic music from time to time.

Apart from those two I'm interested in too many things.
I also love to take photographs, mainly of landscapes, but this seems to be an on-off hobby. Sometimes my camera is in the bag for months and then I take it out and take pictures liek a maniac for some weeks.

I love to read a good fiction, but somehow I can't keep up my motivation to read. Books have to really captivate me so that I stay with them. So I'm always open for recommendations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When we were in India we stayed at a family in a small village for the first week and we were overwhelmed by the friendliness and the sense of community they have that’s not existent (anymore?) in Germany.
