I find it fascinating to speak with people from different backgrounds and I like the idea of being a part of an international community. In a world, so driven by making big money, a progressive idea such as couchsurfing comes as a breath of fresh air!

Writers: not a massive reader, but open to anything. I enjoy stories based on a writer's personal experiences...so anything from Hemmingway to Orwell. It's a bit dull, I know, but I quite like reading non-fiction. Recently read some travel writing by Mark Twain, which I really enjoyed. Mountains Beyond Mountains is a fantastic book (by Tracey Kidder).
