ABOUT ME

I am originally from Florida and went to university there. I had never been away from home for more than 2 weeks at a time until my junior year of college, during which I lived in and travelled around London and the UK. Since then, I have worked to connect to a global community beyond the small town in Florida where I grew up.

I would love to learn a new language during my travels - I have enough Spanish to get around here and there, but I need more immersion before I am fluent. I would also like to learn French and German the next time I'm abroad.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be a CS Storyteller - that is, I want to live and share my CS experiences with other surfers/hosts and people who have never tried CouchSurfing. My generation in the US is negatively labelled the "Boomerang Generation" - which means we go off to a four-year university to spend all of mom and dad's money, then come back and live at home forever. I think we're also a generation of free-thinkers and open-minded travelers with the opportunity to share and spread our stories with the rest of the world.... not just sit at home and watch those stories on TV.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the summer of 2011, my girlfriend and I packed up her car in Florida and drove cross country to Portland, OR, where we've slowly been laying roots. Along the way, we couchsurfed in OK City, Santa Cruz, Mt. Shasta, and Corvallis - it was an incredible chance to see the country and engage in the local flavor, while upholding the whole purpose of Couchsurfing - to SHARE our stories!
