About Me

CURRENT MISSION

expansiveness

ABOUT ME

i make music, the texture of which has varied widely over the past decade. i built houses in Vermont for a couple years, went to school for a couple years, and have explored the States for over a year. all the while having an eye towards the sustainable, organic, and recycled. i ended up landing in Taos, New Mexico after being hired by Earthship Biotecture (www.earthship.com) with whom i build off-grid, passive solar homes in Taos and around the world.

PHILOSOPHY

does the philosophy dictate the mission or does the mission sculpt the philosophy?
for now:
if you try to wrap your head around everything, you're sure to learn something, because what's living without learning?

Music, Movies, and Books

the last movie i saw was a low budget flick a friend made years ago called Punk James; from the folks who brought you American Alien (also hilarious).
so far this roadtrip i've read Sirens of Titan, Jitterbug Perfume, Me Talk Pretty Some Day, The Exploding Detective, How I Conquered Your Planet, most of One Hundred Years of Solitude and many short stories. oh and all Earthships publications, of coarse.
music, yes please. i enjoy many musics and have been creating downtempo live looping soundscapes with the uke and bent keyboards, and i've recently been getting down with DIY old-school analog tape loops. Cassette-quality 'miniature music' CDs now available...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

helped build some serious houses; helped some family with their houses; played a drumset in a tower on a hill in my hometown, also at the edge of a cliff; put my feet up in the Dead Sea, stung by a huge jellyfish in the Mediterranean; gris in Belgium; walked Giant's Causeway, peered across the water at Scotland from a sheep field in Ireland; gazed at Dettifoss from above, Aldeyjarfoss from below and Skógafoss from the tent, also some sweet off-roading in Iceland; so many shooting stars under a new moon in the Rio Gorge; 15,000 roadtrip miles and counting...

Teach, Learn, Share

i could teach you how to build, fix or improve most aspects of a stick-frame house, and the same will goes for Earthships!
i'm not the best with music theory, but i could certainly get someone comfortable a with a pair of drumsticks in their hands. i could show you how to make an analog cassette loop! (i find that really exciting.) i have some experience but i hope to soon have much more to teach about organic gardening...
